Versatile and fast-curing, the GCP Applied Technologies ADCOR 500S is a butyl rubber-based hydrophilic water stop strip that expands immediately in contact with water
GCP Applied Technologies ADCOR 500S allows controlled volumetric expansion and reduces risk of concrete spalling. It retains cohesive strength at both original and expanded volume. The malleable and conformable membrane enables easy adaptability to a variety of concrete profiles and a variety of irregular substrates. It resists at least 231 ft. (70m) hydrostatic pressure. Volumetric expansion min 100%. It is suitable for simple overlap jointing onsite, reproducible swell after wet _ dry cycling, and remains unaffected by freeze/thaw cycling.
Proven formula with controlled volumetric expansion, this innovative strip prevents the risk of concrete spalling. Additionally, the coating retains complete strength before and after its expansion. With robust formulations and results, this strip can handle at least 70 m of hydrostatic pressure. With versatile applicability, this strip can be applied to concrete joints and structures, casting new concrete against existing, steel sheet piles, secant piled walls, joints between floor slabs, and pipe penetrations. Interestingly, the strip reproduces swell after a dry-wet cycle. The strip remains virtually unaffected to freezing and thawing. Best of all, this strip has a long shelf-life of one-year when kept away from direct sunlight and heat.
